This week at Lakeshore, the grade 7/8’s had their first music session. We had music on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday during music, the grade 7/8’s decided on what instruments they would play. They also decided on what song they would play for the CBC Music Festival. They agreed on Island in the Sun by the Weezer and are now practicing. On Thursday 7/8’s practiced whichever instrument they were playing for music.
For Language, the 7/8’s had a very tasty class. Miss Singh, the 7/8’s homeroom teacher, brought in cookies and did a class on the five senses. First, the class wrote down a suitable sentence describing the cookie using the five senses: touch, smell, hearing, taste, and sight. Then the class took a bite out of the cookie. Once they were all done writing the descriptions, they went ahead and enjoyed the wonderful chips ahoy cookie. Everyone seemed to enjoy the cookie.
This week’s Technology class was extremely fun. We started creating hook cards with our name and a picture of us to go under our coat hooks. Some people were not strong in Photoshop, so Mr. Spencer helped them. On Wednesday everyone who was weak in Photoshop got the hang of Photoshop.
On Thursday we shared something called, What’s Good? For What’s Good someone needs to bake something. This week Claire baked delicious cookies. They were so delicious, everyone wanted another one.
This week in Gym, everyone practiced soccer for the soccer team. Everyone was up and moving and being active. On Thursday we all walked or ran for the Terry Fox Run. Every grade was given a suitable number of laps to run/walk. Everyone exceeded their number of laps. Aaron Mason, one of the 7/8 students, decided he would run 20 laps, 13 more laps than the required amount! Great Job Aaron!
For Art on Friday, the 7/8’s studied color tables. It was their first art class of the year. The grade 7/8’s were all told that they needed to fill the right color in the color table. It took a while for them to fill it out, but at the end, it looked colorful.
Overall, it was a great week.
Thanks for that update on the week, Kevin! It was well-written and informative.
